The Barrie Construction Association will launch the new BestBidz on-demand private plans room for central Ontario’s construction industry on Sept. 10.
The event, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the BCA offices, will be of interest to all general contractors, architects, sub-trades and suppliers who use or are invited to private projects, the association says in its announcement.
“FTP sites are a nightmare to manage, and do not provide any useful tracking and communication tools,” the invitation says. “Invitation To Bid (ITB) software can be expensive for you and your subs, and does not provide you with access to subs, suppliers and manufacturers outside of your known network. What if there was a network you and your subs already subscribe to, and had all the functionalities you need?
The BCA says BestBidz On Demand” gives you direct access to the memberships of Ontario’s 12 Local Construction Associations (LCAs),” and a commercial publishing service, “all in one place with state of the art open and invitational Invitation to Bid tools. That’s 10,000 plus of the top construction companies.”
