The fourth annual Base Borden Run is scheduled for Oct. 20.

The event, organized by the Barrie Construction Association (BCA) and the Simcoe County Home Builders’ Association (SCHBA) has raised over $79,000 to provide Georgian College scholarships for base personnel family members

“Over the past three years, we’ve seen the race evolve,” said event co-chair Anita Stacey, representing the BCA.  “It’s become a family event offering 5k, 10k and half-marathon courses which can be walked or run.”

“This is another example of these associations’ commitment to our community, to our nation’s military and their families,” said SCHBA representative Matt Price, also a co-chair. “And we are very grateful for the support of Base Borden personnel who work side-by-side with us to plan and run this event.
