Barrie Construction Association executive director Alison Smith has sent a notice to members urging support for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Barrie, including cash donations and participation in the March 30 “Construction Challenge” Bowling for Kids program.

In her note, she says the organization is currently helping close to 400 little brothers and sisters through the Homework Club, Group Programs, In-School Mentoring Program and activities as well as matching the ‘littles’ up with their big brother or big sister.

“Your donations help the children directly by allowing the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Barrie to offer seven mentoring programs free of charge,” she wrote, in encouraging members to make a $5 contribution (for which members will be recognized through a display of “your bowling ball at the BCA.”
