The Barrie Construction Association Board of Directors was approached by Camphill Communities Ontario with a request for support.
Their organization has been gifted a bungalow located in central Barrie. As the foundation was not structurally sound, a complete tear-down and new build is required and the house, generously bequeathed to Camphill Communities by Terry Kirk was demolished at the end of July.
Camphill has secured Bulldog Construction Services (a proud BCA Member!!) as their General Contractor and are now looking for subcontractors to assist with the build. Interested contractors can contact Matt Wanless, Bulldog Construction Services as soon as possible: matt@bulldogcs.ca – 705-331-8720.
Upgrades will make the house amenable for two supported individuals. This home is conveniently located in the Sophia Creek neighborhood of Barrie and it requires:
- new windows
- new flooring
- new plumbing
- HVAC upgrades
- new kitchen cabinets
- drywall repairs
- painting
- electrical upgrades
Participating companies will receive extensive media coverage during the project and company names and logos will be included on signage at the project site and on the BCA’s website.
“We would greatly appreciate any consideration you could give to assist us in this community endeavour,” the BCA said in a statement. “BCA members not only build and rebuild our community physically, they also work towards improving the overall health of our community by supporting charities and other organizations.”
