The Barrie Construction Association will host a lunch and learn about independent contractors on Sept. 18
“The use of an “independent contractor” to perform work may seem like an attractive way to reduce costs, avoid employment obligations and limit potential legal liability,” the BCA says in its announcement. “However, there can be significant risk and cost consequences for an organization if an independent contractor is later determined to be an employee or a dependent contractor.
“Learn how to identify and manage this risk.”
The seminar will be at the BCA offices, 200 Brock St., from 11:30 to 1:30.
