Registration has opened for the third annual Explore the Trades event on Sept. 27 in Orillia.
The Orillia and District Construction Association (ODCA) and the Orillia Manufacturers Association (OMA) in partnership with the City of Orillia Economic Development Office and Township of Oro-Medonte, “in a continued response to help build the local skilled trades’ workforce” have partnered with Orillia area secondary schools to organize the event at Patrick Fogarty Catholic Secondary School.
“This event provides an opportunity for local secondary students to explore opportunities local trades at a time when they are trying to determine which career path they should take,” organizers say.
More than 30 Orillia area businesses and 1,500 students considering a trades career have participated in previous events.
