AERT  (Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies Inc.) has manufactured the Moisture Shield composite docking used in the Port Orillia upgrade and is the largest supplier of composite product to Canada.

Brent Gwatney, AERT’s senior vice-president of sales and marketing, says the business  holds the original composite formula patent. “In 22 years we’ve never had a failure on this product and have been using it to manufacture docks and decking since 1994.”

AERT provides products to 14 countries from Alaska to Dubai. “This is the largest Ontario project to use the composite,” Gwantney said.  “We’re confident that the product’s lifetime, transferable warranty and its proven track record, will impress users. It won’t decay, has high slip resistance and, as they found in Orillia, can be installed easily both on the ground and under water.”
