Orillia economic development officer Laura Thompson has thanked participants July’s public information session for the city’s Downtown Tomorrow Community Improvement Plan (CIP).

“Our consultant has compiled the feedback gathered at the session, and this consultation summary has now been posted on the project webpage,” she writes.

“Moving forward, the project team is working on an Official Plan Amendment, draft design principles and draft financial incentives, which will be brought forward to the Economic Development Committee and Council Committee this September for review and comment. We encourage you to watch Council Committee on Sept. 21 to view the consultant’s presentation.

“Following this, the draft incentives will be brought forward to a second public information session for review and community feedback. Public Information Session #2 is anticipated to take place during the first week of October.”
