Barrie Construction Association (BCA) membership services co-ordinator Byrony Buchanan has forwarded a notification to members outlining an opportunity for a three-day free WSIB course, Building Your Health & Safety Program, which will make you eligible for a five per cent rebate on WSIB costs. “It’s a WIN-WIN situation!” she writes.
The course material and registration form (see attached document) for the health and safety training program says participants will receive
- Information on how to reduce your WSIB costs;
- Hands on training for Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act;
- Free, accessible and easy-to-understand health and safety resources
- Free ongoing support with a small business health and safety consultant
Buchanan writes:
All of the eligibility requirements are outlined in the attachment, along with the application that must be sent into to WSIB. This is a free opportunity for you to make sure that you have a health and safety program in place that protects not only you, but your employees as well. Let’s make 2017 the safest year yet!
The program runs for three days, Feb. 15, Feb. 22 and March 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
